At Reima, kids’ safety always comes first. It means offering non-toxic products as well as designs with safety-improving features, such as a detachable hood, a reflecting fabric, or a high UV protection factor. Thanks to our holistic approach, Reima was awarded the European Product Safety Gold Award 2019 in the Children’s Products category.

In 2019, The European Union awarded us as the best in children's product safety in European Product Safety Awards. We received the award for ensuring that our clothes are not only safe for kids, but offer extra protection, for example, by enhancing visibility in the dark or by repelling bugs that bite.
No harmful substances
Our clothing has been 100% PFC-free since 2017 – instead, we use nominated, fluorine free treatments such as BIONIC FINISH® ECO and Teflon Ecoelite® for water repellency. Our products are also free from formaldehyde, phthalates, and azo dyes.
Our Restricted Substances List (RSL) specifies which chemical substances are banned or restricted in the product and material manufacturing process and in the finished products. All Reima suppliers are committed to complying with this list, and the banned substances should not occur at any stage of production.
bluesign® system
We are a bluesign® partner, which helps us to improve chemical safety and reduce the environmental impact of textile manufacturing. All bluesign® partners must meet strict criteria for chemical management to protect the water, air, and soil, as well as the people working with textiles. We ensure chemical safety through using bluesign® approved materials, choosing chemically safe manufacturing and opting for organic natural materials.
