Human Rights & Social Responsibility

A product cannot be sustainable if it isn’t ethically made. That’s why we want to ensure that our suppliers respect human and labor rights, as well as the environment. Our Supplier Code of Conduct (COC) is based on international UN conventions on human and labor rights, and we mandate all finished goods suppliers to have a third-party social compliance audit that is up-to-date.

Factory audits

Most of our suppliers are amfori BSCI audited, some SA8000 or WRAP, and they are audited annually. We build long-term, collaborative partnerships with our suppliers, and conduct our own social compliance assessments, too, to be able to better support their improvement. The BSCI focuses on continuous improvement, and suppliers are expected to take measures to address underperforming areas between audits, e.g. by submitting and implementing remediation plans.

We build long-term, collaborative partnerships with our suppliers, and also conduct our own social compliance assessments to be able to support their improvement.

We believe in transparency, and that you have the right to know where your Reima clothes are made. You can download our finished goods (or “tier-I”) supplier list here . Below you can see a breakdown of our 2020 suppliers by country.

Amfori membership

We are a member of amfori, the world’s largest trade association dedicated to making trade more inclusive and sustainable. In accordance with amfori requirements, at least 75% of our finished goods suppliers in risk countries are amfori BSCI audited for social compliance. As part of amfori, we work to improve the social responsibility of global supply chains beyond our own, through membership of the Member Advisory Council (MAC) and as part of a Working Group to improve grievance mechanisms for supply chain workers. We promote increasing transparency and improving impact assessments of auditing and supply chain collaboration, for example.

ACCORD membership

Reima is a member of the Bangladesh ACCORD, a public-private partnership focused on improving occupational health and safety, most notably fire and building safety in the Bangladesh textile industry. ACCORD was founded after the Rana Plaza accident in 2013.
