Waterproof levels
All Reima fabrics or products marked with drop symbols are waterproof. The waterproof level is indicated with water columns which tell how much water pressure the fabric endures in thickness, before water begins to pass its surface. The thickness of the water mass / pressure is stated in mm.
Water column over 3 000 mm:
Protects against rain for some time.
Water column over 5 000 mm:
Protects against heavy rain, too.
Water column over 8 000 mm:
Is suitable for both heavy rain but also sitting on wet.
Water column over 12 000 mm:
For extreme conditions. Protects in active outings in wet surroundings and in heavy rain, all-day.

Have tried many rain hats for our now 15 month old and he either hated them or they didn’t work very well. Not only is this hat comfortable for him but it works really well. The front and rear brim are long enough to keep him dry and protected even when it is windy but they are soft enough that they don’t inhibit movement as he explores, crouches, tries to look up into the rain, haha. The material is high quality. We also purchased the rain mittens and they are AMAZING. I am now a loyal Reima customer.

The quality itself is amazing however the hat runs very small and although I purchased the largest size for my 6 years old it barely fits.
